LDs 815 Fun Fair is a celebration to equip mentors and empower youth to raise funds for relational mentoring and community restoration. This 2ndAnnual - FREE-To-The-Community-Event - will be held on Saturday, August 13th.
The 815 Fun Fair, is doubling as a fundraiser for Life Decisions - planned by a committee of youth and mentors - to support ongoing Relational Mentoring Activities within Life Decisions.
Life Decisions is building a Tribe of Mentors who help youth get back on track, stay out of trouble, and reach healthy adulthood.
Last year, Life Decisions Youth Leadership Council wanted to make an impact and bring the community together as we were coming out of COVID. They wrote and received a grant from In Youth We Trust of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, to sponsor our first annual community celebration. Our first event - ever - had a fantastic turnout:
- More than 300 attendees
- Over 100 volunteers
- 15 Sponsors
- 22 Community Resource Vendors who provide resources to youth and families
- 2,469 hours of Relational Mentoring, among 21 adult mentors & 18 youth mentees, from this project alone!
