  • 1. Why is Life Decisions Collecting Gently Used Shoes?  We are collecting gently used shoes as a fundraiser for Life Decisions to continue helping youth get back on track, stay out of trouble and reach healthy adulthood. Funds2Org is an organization that partners with nonprofits in this endeavor, paying them by the pound for every pair of new and gently used shoes that are collected! We are excited to partner with a team from Leadership Rockford to collect 40,000 pairs of Gently used shoes!

  • 2. How long is Life Decisions collecting shoes?  Now thru March 12, 2024.

  • 3. Where do I drop off the shoes?  At the Life Decisions Day Home - 3107 E State St. Enter thru Crosspoint Church's entrance from E State St. We are the white house next door to the church.  OR at any of the multiple Drop Off Sites here!

  • 4. What times can I drop off the shoes?  You can drop off the shoes any day / anytime. If the Day Home is closed, leave them in a sealed bag or bin in the big popcorn box by the back door of the Day Home (the door closest to the Garage).

  • 5. Are you having any Drive By Drop off Dates?  YES! Jan 20, Feb 10, Feb 24, Mar 09 and Mar 30 from 9am-12pm we are having Drive By drop off events.

  • 6. What is a Drive By Drop off?  You can drive your car up to the Day Home and we will have volunteers ready to unload your shoes for you! You are welcome to take a tour of the Life Decisions Day Home at this time as well!

  • 7. What does Life Decisions do?  Life Decisions is building a Tribe of Mentors to Bring Restoration to Rockford by investing in overlooked and undervalued youth 15-23.

  • 8. Is Life Decisions a registered 501(c)3?  Yes! Our EIN # is 86-1866264

  • 9. What are you doing with the shoes collected?  These shoes will make a Local, Environmental AND Global impact! Locally - Funds2Org will pay Life Decisions for every pair of gently used shoes that are collected. These funds will go towards the operational expenses of maintaining the Life Decisions Day Home as a Safe & Stable place for 15-23 year old youth. Over 300 Million pairs of shoes are thrown away in the US every year, ending up in US landfills. The shoes we collect will be re-purposed and brought to developing nations to those living in poverty to help start micro enterprises! Its a Win-Win-Win!

  • 10. What type of shoe are you collecting?  We are collecting ANY SIZE and ANY STYLE of new AND GENTLY USED shoe. Every style is acceptable except no roller blades/snowboarding shoes, etc. However, Boots / Cleats / Ballet Slippers / Tennis Shoes / Sandals / Flip Flops / House shoes - etc. ALL ARE ACCEPTABLE! Just no singles...and no holes. Must be gently used.

  • 12. How else can I help? 1. Collect at least 25 pairs of shoes in your own world. That is ONE BAG filled (our goal is to fill 1600 bags!) Ask your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers. SHARE within your networks. We need 1600 people to each fill a bag to reach our goal! You can connect us with a business or organization to collect shoes for Life Decisions also!
